The whisper in the wind that’s your mind’s eye you decided to let pass by, it was enthusiastic if not empathetic as expected when not diplomatic could be apathetic, your denial is energetic! which is pathetic before a fool who will regret it.
All of which to say when you twist needs and wants when could, would and should never saw did and done once begun, soon these lies begin to live then you’ll use them as shields unwilling to face the bitterness as it builds.
Each time in the mirror! eye to eye it couldn’t be clearer Pride! is saving self! hell, theirs nothing else, you gave in to the challenges of life when it got hard you didn’t think twice, so! there is the truth but you probably wanted nice.
