I have felt the backlash of this accusation,
our current cultural consumption defying adaptation.
A simple concept lacking proper appreciation,
calamity! our creation, this devastation our participation.
Our toxic emissions praying to a corporate religion,
giving us the fossil fuel blues while the gray water ooze.
EPA lacking commitment but not to industries resentment,
we lack resistance but not to our SUV we’re persistent.
Cut the forest who needs a tress? bottle oxygen theirs a fee,
fish in harbors who need a pole, grab hold scrape off the mold.
Their layer of leakage before the absorption becomes seepage,
maximization our material lifestyle while stacking bodies in a pile.
