Sunlight penetrates across the sky
a mother’s smile the child knows why.
When shadows spring forth from distortion
creatures! ugly features from this contortion.
The last vestiges of our past
those grains of sand through the hourglass.
So what’s in a deed it’s feast or bleed
whether you try or cry comes the day you die.
When we intrepid the weak to be imperfect
wouldn’t that be the deed of the serpent?
Our illusions building transparent dreams
lies deafening cries while the babies scream.
Within the passions that once stir hearts
a fool knows not, how it began where did it start
Do you call onto the lord to divide the cost
could you ever afford eternal life being lost
Death won’t be denied you to will take that ride
coming before the Lord who can you blame.
You will atone in the spotlight of your shame
the line will be long many will suffer the same.
