Dysfunction Before Death, Depravity Is What’s Left

Twenty-eight years as a Correctional Officer in California’s State Prison System (retired) I have worked among the heartless, cruel blackening souls with dysfunctional disillusions, sudden acts of violence which conflict reason with confusion.
As the heart ranching details of the latest school shooting splash across the Social Media landscape I vacillate, this senselessness can defy one’s ability to articulate, collectively we still seem to hesitate! we must not capitulate.
” If you retreat to your island of fortifications, in the still of the night hearing your neighbor’s screams of desperation, the day the ills of man reach your front door, the lack of neighbors you’ll feel much more”
So we wade into the latest stories of wrecked life’s and broken dreams, such wasteful demise what does it mean, before it’s submerged into that tiresome debate in the gun control theme, still no action it seems life ever so mean.

As Grand-master Flash so eloquently wrote in the song The Massages

” A child is born with no state of mind blind to the ways of mankind, God is smiling on you but frowning too! for only God knows what you’ll go through”

So we stand looking pointing fingers at each other across the Social Media plane, the social fabric is feeling the strain, we all die a little inside with this pain, but doing nothing won’t stop it from happening again.

I'm a father, friend, and a family man, I believe in right and wrong, I understand the value of standing on your own. I have an iron will with a poet's heart, a belief in God is where it starts.
