Never Will Love Me

Feeling the pain before its bite
when cold winds chill a dreadful night.
Fear freezes the hearts in prey
death in the predawn is just nature’s way.

Can love choose between wrong and right
your silky hair reflecting the amber lights.
Casting the shadows for hidden regrets
a theft will conceal you must expect.

Never once would you take my hand
in the desert sands life hides within
The wants of fools pushed to the side
when hope and pride die being denied

Never will you love me, I missed every cue
Now you neglect me, tormenting my view.
Zebras cry in the night, Cheetahs give chase
this love you will waste, I’ve made my case.

When robin birds sing in hunted dreams
How deeds defy what love really means.
Maggots before the fly the order of things
the truth after the lie your way it seems.

Never will you love me, will it always be true
now you will neglect me but I already knew

Seeing the followers bend and blow
pride wont demand that its time to go.
The helpless drifting in a raging stream
drowning rejection is not a random theme

My world ends on actions you can’t defend
For broken hearts may never mend.
Was that your plan, that’s how it began
giving love then turning cold, crushing my soul

Never will you love me forever it will be true
you can’t neglect me when I die with you

I'm a father, friend, and a family man, I believe in right and wrong, I understand the value of standing on your own. I have an iron will with a poet's heart, a belief in God is where it starts.
